Chronic shortage of school places in Naas

As there seems to be chronic shortage of school places available in Naas every year, I asked the council to ensure the council met with or will meet with the Dept of Education regarding their offer in their submission to meet to discuss zoning of appropriate lands and in accordance with the future needs of educational facilities within the Naas LAP

Pipers Hill School Campus

Pipers Hill School Campus: Put forward a motion to request that the owners of the Pipers Hill School campus take urgent action on the traffic chaos that is currently experienced at peak times in this area. I specially requested that they look for planning permission for an additional entrance / exit. I also requested that they make dedicated space for cyclists entering on campus so to avoid any further collisions with pedestrians on site. I await their response to the official request

Traffic Warden for Pipers Hill

That this council assigns a traffic warden or start a junior wardens program for the Pipers Hill School campus both inside the site and outside on the Kilcullen Road.

Budget for two traffic wardens

Budget motion: That we include an additional 2 posts for traffic wardens needed at Pipers Hill Campus in Naas and on the public road outside the campus.  Which was refused

Primary School painted bollards red and yellow

I asked that the council paints roadside bollards / light poles outside primary schools with a striking yellow and red paint to highlight to motorists to slow down as there are young school children in the vicinity. This has proven effective in other countries such as Holland. Thanks to the council who provided the funding for the paint and thanks to Naas Tidy Towns as their volunteers did the work
